Face/Neck Lift with HIFU

What is HIFU?

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It is a non-invasive device that utilizes highly focused energy from ultrasound to tighten the skin and stimulate collagen. The procedure takes about 30-90 mins depending on the site and indication of treatment.

How does that work?

HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy to the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS) layer of the skin to tighten and lift the skin (this is the same layer that the surgeon uses for facelift). Besides that, additional treatment at the middle of the dermis is performed to firm the skin by stimulating production of new collagen.

What are the side effects?

HIFU has a good safety record when it is performed by experienced doctors. The most frequent reported reactions are discomfort, redness and swelling at the treated areas that will resolve within hours to days. Other more serious complications such as nerve irritation or damage can be avoided with proper technique.
