Peeling program is a non-surgical skin exfoliation procedure with Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acid such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, citric acid, malic acid or lactic acid. Antioxidants can be added to further synergise the result.
Peeling program can remove predictable uniform thickness of damaged or dead skin cells, regulate oil production, unclog pores and boost collagen production. It is effective in treating fine wrinkles, large pores, acne, acne scars, melasma, uneven skin tone and dry skin.
After a proper cleansing of the face, a peeling solution is applied with a soft brush. Several applications are needed depending on the indications of treatment. One might feel a mild to moderate stingy sensation during the procedure that is usually self-subside 30 minutes later.
An initial redness, stinginess and itchiness might occur following the application of the peeling agent. White patches might develop in certain areas, indicating epidermolysis (separation of the epidermis from the underlying dermis i.e. peeling). Exfoliation typically occurs over several days, and re-epithelialization (regrowth of skin) is completed within 7-14 days. You should gently wash the face and pat dry very carefully. All the skin products not prescribed by our doctors should be avoided. Do not rub your face with a towel. Do not pick at the face during the recovery period as this may lead to scarring or hyper-pigmentation.
Peeling Program is generally safe. It is important to avoid application of un-consulted skincare and picking of the peeled skin during the recovery period as this may lead to scarring or hyperpigmentation.
